Introduction to EXAMPLE Author®
Presenter: Jon Richards

Attendees will be exposed to the EXAMPLE Author tool in this all day hands-on session. This overview session is designed for new business users that want a hands-on experience using the EXAMPLE Author tool. The class will focus on building a simple ManuScript using the features and functionality of the EXAMPLE Author tool. Attendees will need to attend the entire day in order to build the project from start to finish. This overview is offered for attendees who have limited or no familiarity with the functionality and interface of the EXAMPLE Author tool. Space is limited to 15 people for this session but other attendees may step in and observe at anytime.

Topics Will Include:

  • EXAMPLE Author – what it is and how it works
  • Creating groups and fields based on a data model of schema
  • Storing rate factors in tables
  • Updating and versioning manuscripts
  • Saving and organizing manuscripts into a manuscript catalog
  • Creating test cases using Data Tester
  • Creating interview pages using Page Designer
  • Creating forms using Forms Mapper

"Product in a Day" Vision

This session will present the vision of Duck Creek’s Product in a Day initiative, as well as the vision of the current projects operating under that initiative. There will be demonstrations and discussions on new tools and product templates.

AJAX and EXAMPLE Express 2.2
Presenter: Mark Gidman

This session will cover the new AJAX capabilities available in the EXAMPLE 2.2 product line. This session will feature an in-depth look at the changes needed in your manuscripts to enable AJAX based processing. A review of the necessary skins changes will also be covered. This session is designed for EXAMPLE Author Page Designers, developers and web designers. *

Manuscript Performance Considerations
Presenter: Jim Roller

In this session, you will learn how to optimize manuscript performance by focusing on best practices for manuscript design to enhance performance. We will cover design improvements for rating/underwriting using fields and tables, as well as page design interview considerations. This session is designed for experienced EXAMPLE Author users.

Professional Services Methodology
Presenters: Chris Murphy & Scott McCarter

A high-level overview of our start-to-finish methodology, processes, and tools used for Professional Services Engagements. Customers who are currently or will begin a Professional Services Engagement should attend.

Homeowners Product Implementation – Part 1

Moderator: Mark Gidman

Watch as product experts build out a Homeowners product in EXAMPLE Author! Enjoy a trade show atmosphere while observing four EXAMPLE Author experts at different workstations, each with their own specific set of requirements to accomplish a single product. A moderator will discuss the work being done at each station, attendees will be invited to tour the stations with the moderator or simply remain at a single station to witness or discuss the build of specific requirements. At the end of the session, there will be a demonstration of the work completed.

The Next Generation of the EXAMPLE Express User Interface
Presenter: Mark Gidman, Jack Broughton

This session will explore the next generation of web based user interfaces currently in development at Duck Creek. Work is underway to address a variety of needs including enhanced consumer access, usability and responsiveness, ease of integration with other web frameworks and speed to market. This session is designed for EXAMPLE Author Page Designers, developers and web designers. *

EXAMPLE Author Tips and Tricks

In this session you will be shown those “I didn’t know it would do that” items, and in general, how to become a more powerful user of EXAMPLE Author. This session is designed for content developers familiar with EXAMPLE Author.

Duck Creek Billing System
Presenter: Bob Engwall

This session is meant to provide a detailed “tour” of the functions and features of the Duck Creek’s Billing System release. The presentation will incorporate a high-level review of the advantages of the underlying architecture. Duck Creek’s plans to develop future releases in support of agency, group, and other bill processes will also be featured. This session is designed for any attendee interested in Duck Creek’s Billing System. Session will be 45 minutes.

Enjoy a trade show atmosphere while observing four EXAMPLE Author experts at different workstations, each with their own specific set of requirements to accomplish a single product.  A moderator will discuss the work being done at each station, attendees will be invited to tour the stations with the moderator or simply remain at a single station to witness or discuss the build of specific requirements. At the end of the session, there will be a demonstration of the customized product built during Part 1 and 2.

Extending the EXAMPLE Platform
Presenter: Andrew Yohn

This session will describe how to extend the EXAMPLE Platform. Topics will include adding new EXAMPLE Server® extensions as well as adding new custom pages to the EXAMPLE Express web framework. This session is designed for integration developers and Web developers.

Advanced EXAMPLE Author
Presenter: Jim Noel

This session will focus on EXAMPLE Author testing tools and their use. In addition, the more advanced features in EXAMPLE Author will be covered (i.e. requests). This will include Data Tester, Util, TSV Debugger and Trace Monitor. The objective will be to demonstrate how to use these utilities to help debug issues and write requests. This session is designed for experienced EXAMPLE Author users.

Duck Creek University (DCU) Learning Center
Presenters: Jerry Scott

This session will focus on the features and functionality of the online DCU Learning Center. Attendees will learn how to enroll in courses, search the course catalog, add learning to transcripts, manage team members, and maximize the functionality of the system for their company. Part of the session will also focus on the services DCU provides to our customers and an update on new certification and curriculum projects. This session is designed for any attendee interested in learning more about the online Learning Center.

This session will define recommended topology and configuration for improved performance of the EXAMPLE Platform. Topics will include recent EXAMPLE Platform enhancements to improve performance as well as recommendations on how to design and profile custom content and manuscripts for optimum performance and scalability. This session is designed for IT professionals, developers, and manuscript architects.

EXAMPLE TransACT™

This session will be a product overview designed for the business user and will focus on the functionality, interface, and how to maximize the features of EXAMPLE TransACT. This session is designed for project managers, content developers, and EXAMPLE TransACT customers

Professional Services Requirements Gathering

This session will take a detailed look into how the Services Team takes business requirements and works with you to mold them into a complete, testable, and ready-to-build requirements suite. Customers who are currently involved in or will begin a Professional Services Engagement should attend this session.

Customer Forums

In these forums, a Duck Creek customer will present a mini case study to discuss the business challenges that they were looking to solve; what solutions they purchased and developed to support their business goals; and where they are today with that solution. These forums are designed to allow you to interact with your peers to understand and discuss how others are using Duck Creek’s solutions. There will be four forums – Black Box Rating, Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Specialty Lines.
